EFT Tapping

A simple technique with powerful results - for life and work.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is often simply called ‘Tapping’ because it involves tapping gently on acupressure points on the face and upper body.

It’s an effective, easy-to-learn stress reduction technique that lowers cortisol production in the body - allowing us to step out of the fight or flight response whilst enhancing executive function.

Research into EFT Tapping

There is a considerable and growing body of clinical research into the effects of EFT Tapping on the mind and body - including peer reviewed randomised-controlled trials (the gold standard in scientific research).

The EFT Tapping Process

EFT Tapping is considered a somatic approach because it engages both the mind and the body.

The technique involves tapping gently on pressure points on the face and upper body (using your fingertips) whilst focusing your attention on the challenge you are facing (e.g. stress/strong emotions) through what you say.

Tapping on the points sends a calming signal to the stress centre of the brain (the amygdala) & reduces cortisol (a key stress hormone).

As you calm the stress response in the mind and body, your brain receives the message that it is safe to relax around the stressor in question.

This takes the ‘emotional charge’ out of what we’re experiencing, and updates the brain’s learning pathways with a new story.

EFT Tapping can be used independently to manage the stresses of day-to-day life, or used with a practitioner to work on bigger issues that you are facing.

“EFT Tapping is a simple yet powerful tool…

You can use it on your own to manage day-to-day stresses or work with a practitioner to overcome deeper challenges.
